About Us
Capt. Bob's Charters has been an established company here in Kailua Kona, Hawai'i for the past 20+ years, featuring around 20 boats specializing in big game sportfishing.
When Captain Bob Roller started this company, his goal was not only to provide a fine fishing experience for his clients, but to also promote sustainability to our local fishermen and tourism partners along the way. Upon retirement, the torch was passed to Captain David Unger and Ohana, who proudly continued to carry on his legacy. After a few years, new endeavors were calling and the Unger Ohana graciuosly approached us with the opportunity to take the company on.
Kai and I, Jacque Hoover, would like to introduce ourselves as the new owners of Capt. Bob's Charters, Inc. We are a Native Hawaiian couple residing in Kailua Kona with our two young children. We find pleasure in all things OCEAN!
Kai grew up in and around the Marine Tourism industry and started working in the fishing fleet at the young age of 13. Since 2014, he has captained the charter boat, the Waiopai, one of the featured boats in our fleet.
Jacque's family has been fishing in Hawai'i for generations, commercially and recreationally. She has had 10+ years in the Tourism industry along with experience in Transportation and Finance.
We are so proud to take on this new challenge and look forward to carrying on the legacy! COME FISH KONA!
